About
HSR Build
An independent Honkai: Star Rail database. Entity data is read from the game's own files; the writing on top of it is written by a person and says so. Nothing here is a survey result and nothing here is generated to fill space.
Where the data comes from
| Source | What it provides | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Project Yatta | Characters, Light Cones, Relic sets, materials, ability scalings, traces, Eidolons and every icon on the site. | It mirrors the game’s own files, so a number here is the number the game ships rather than somebody’s transcription of it. |
| The same files, computed | Stats at level 80, and the version a character or Light Cone debuted in. | Yatta ships each promotion’s base and per-level growth rather than a finished number, so the level-80 figure is worked out from those two and nothing else. |
| HoYoverse, official channels | Warp rates, pity counts, banner mechanics. | These are stated by the operator in the in-game Details panel. Where a number is not stated — soft pity, for one — the page says so instead of presenting a community estimate as official. |
Derived, not decided
Build recommendations on this site are derived. Each one runs a stated rule over the game’s own numbers — which stat a kit multiplies is read from its scaling rows, not from its prose, and a Light Cone is ranked on whether its Path, its base stat and its passive act on that stat. The tier list and the team compositions are the exception: those are editorial, and the pages that carry them say so at the top.
The point of doing it that way is that you can disagree with the rule. A ranking nobody can check is a ranking nobody should trust, including one that happens to be right.
What the derivation cannot see is turn order, Skill Point economy, Eidolon levels, and how a character performs against a specific Memory of Chaos floor. Where a community list disagrees with the one here, it is usually describing one of those.
What this site will not do
- Cite itself. If the only page on the open web carrying a claim is this one, the claim is unsourced. A search engine echoing our own page back is not corroboration.
- Publish unverifiable dates. Warp windows and event dates are claims with dates on them. Where there is no source we can check, the page says so rather than transcribing a screenshot.
- Invent ratings. No aggregate rating, no review count, no tier score assigned by hand. We have surveyed nobody.
- Take another site’s work. No copied prose, no images carrying another site’s framing, crop or watermark.
- Ship a page to hold an ad slot. A route either has content or does not exist.
Corrections
Every entity page carries the date its data was last read from source. If a number here disagrees with the game, the game is right and we want to know. Corrections go through the contact route on the contact page.
